Spur of the Moment

I stood up; you looked at me, and moved your stare away.
Those eyes, those self-same eyes that used to look at me
with passion, love, affection. Now, they look at me
with disgust, ignorance, oblivion—nothing. I see nothing
in those eyes but the bitterness of broken friendship and love
that has not been consummated.
Gone were the days where friendship was sweet
and innocence was bliss. Now, everything seems hazy with
time and space that’s just within reach.
No looks, no talks, no walks—nothing. All is nothing
but a stupid façade, pretending we both not exist.
My friend, we have just become strangers again.
Can we go back to the days when we felt like friends?
