In the Space Between: An Ode

I’ll hold this place, this quiet ground,
beneath the sun that circles round.
You need the space, I see it clear—
the weight you carry keeps you here.

I’ll wait until the trials end,
the dusty books, the hours penned.
I’ll trust that once this chapter’s through,
you’ll know the paths that lead to you.

I’ve felt the world, the want to run,
to see the close of what’s begun.
But now I’ll rest, my roots grown deep,
a vigil kept while you must keep

to what you hold, to what you’ve claimed,
the fires you’ve stoked, the dreams you’ve named.
I’ll wait in peace, with open hands—
no rush, no clock, no quick demands.

I’ll hold the hours, the space, the quiet,
through dawns and dusks, this steady riot
of days that pass, of stars that rise—
each whispering their soft goodbyes.

I know the road you walk alone,
the weight of worlds not yet your own.
I’ll be the stillness at your side,
the breath that waits, the turning tide.

So let your heart and mind be free,
untangled yet from thoughts of me.
For love can rest, its roots grown slow,
and find new ways to bloom and grow.

For what is love, if not a pause,
a held-back breath for noble cause?
When you are ready, you will find
I’m here, heart-bound and earth-entwined.
